Singing Firefighter June News Letter

But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.(Rom.6:7)

Jesus paid the ultimate price for our freedom from sin and death. He laid down His life while we were still sinners. He did it without saying now I will die for if you do this or that. He died because He loved us and His Father.

We have freedom in this great country today because men and women have laid down their lives for us. They too have paid the highest price for something they love and they too did it without conditions for us. In a couple of days, we will celebrate the Fourth of July, our day of Independence. Let’s not forget how that Independence came about and the price paid to have it and let’s not forget about God our Father who sent His Son into the battle for all mankind and won back our freedom form death and the grave. Lets enjoy our celebrations our families and our friends. Lets rejoice in the Spirit of God for our salvation and eternal life, but lets not forget that someone died for us to have the right to do so.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY     BANG!!     POP!!!     BOOM!!!

A little fireworks humor for you.  Wow was June an exciting month for ministry. We had eight dates this past month and all were a wonderful time in the Lord. We started out in Parsons at the Salem Baptist Church Homecoming. I sang their favorites old and new and everyone enjoyed the afternoon of worship. Our next stop was at the Palestine Methodist Church community day. We had alot of fun here with these folks.  I sang and the group TNT sang and then we chowed down on hamburgers hot dogs and HOMEMADE ice cream. Nancy was really getting into the strawberry ice cream. I think its because she was leaving for Kenya the next day. Nancy left for Kenya and I went to Holly Springs Methodist to sing for their homecoming that afternoon. I sing for these folks every year and they are truly a joy to be around. The next date was a gang singing, that's where a bunch of us come together for a united cause lifting up the name of Jesus and to help a family with mounting medical bills. This was the first benefit singing that was more like a worship service and the presence of God filled the room from the time we started to the time we ended. It was awesome. I sang at the Delta Heritage Center on a Saturday evening and the temperature was 99 in the shade.  Man was it hot.  At last count there were about 150 folks that came out, sat in the heat, ate popsicles, and listened to their favorites.  Thanks to all who came out and braved the heat. I rounded out the month at Sugar Creek and Deanburg. Deanburg was having their community day.  It’s always a treat to go there and sing because these folks just love God and His people. This was also the first day Nancy was back at home. They were grilling half a chicken for lunch and so I got us each one after the singing was over and wow did that Nancy lay into that chicken.  She wore that half a bird out. It was good to have her back at my side.  I really missed her while she was gone but don't tell her. HHAHAH. I hope that maybe in the next few weeks she will write about some of her experiences and share them with all of you. You will be truly blessed.  I will get July's dates out to you soon. The new cd is due back in about two weeks and I will send out an update on it as well. Have a safe and Happy Fourth! Be careful if you are shooting fireworks - its dry and those things are DANGEROUS.  I have to say that because, after all, I am a fireman. Thanks for your prayers and support until we meet BE BLESSED.

The Singing Fireman

Thanks to ya’ll for praying for our trip to Kenya.  It was awesome!  We preached and prayed in schools and churches; saw people healed and delivered by God’s grace and power.  Then we enjoyed a day and a half safari before heading home.  The story I tell most is that for 2 weeks I heard almost no complaining, criticism, or whining.  We think of ourselves as blessed because of all the material things our country has available.  These Kenyan churches are richly blessed with the glorious and unspeakable joy of the Lord!
